Dekho inhe yeh hain os ki bunde
These three words( MR ( mentally retarded ) HI (hearing impaired) and VI (visually impaired)) will might take you back to the reminiscence of those kids which you people must have seen on roads as beggars, rag pickers and scroungers. You people might have went to some orphanages or some other institutions which works for their welfare and well being. Earlier, i had also heard about these kids but i never met a single kid as a person but recently i got this wonderful opportunity through a social event of my NGO(leo club). I went to "SEVA AASHRAM"(an organization which works for the welfare of these kind of kids). That day i realized something that had affected me so deeply that i can never forget this incident ever.I had seen something really unusual and different in them which i never thought of it to be. Earlier i used to think that these MR, HI and VI students can't do anything as they are not being blessed with normalcy but, when i came closer to their lives i got to know that my notions were so wrong, that aashram reminded me of a movie called "TAARE ZAMEEN PAR". Now i got to know the social message behind that movie.Previously when i watched the movie i felt that it's just an emotional flick or nothing else but now i feel that it's a very sincere and effective movie with a wonderful script and acting. Now, here's the description of the day when i went to this prestigious AASRAM.
When i entered the aashram i was very excited and full of kindness and sympathy for all the kids, though i didn't have any idea that what kind of kids i'm going to meet but i was full of zest to meet them .I reached a bit late and the event was already started, all the students were sitting on the floor very innocently and were deeply concentrated on whatever they were making.Event was POSTER COMPETITION! and they all were making posters and drawings on their sheets. Basically i was the photographer there, so i was little more excited as i have to click their lovely faces and their out of this world crafts!. As i started taking photographs i clicked the first picture of a kid who was making a lovely hut, mountains and a river and when i asked him "yeh ghar aapka hai???" he nodded with such an innocence and gullible face (that literally i felt like capturing that innocence in a box so that i would show it to those people who says innocence doesn't exists in today's world).I think that was the signal of saying "yes"!His face was glittered with a dream of making his own house (his expressions said everything as he can't speak because he was the MR child means mentally retarded). Then i moved toward the second child, he was making nothing just trying to fill the colours in a cone shaped drawing as he was visually impaired he can't make distinction between colours but, i felt that even though they can't differentiate colours but at least they can't be RACIST in any case. I wish people who discriminates the people on the bases of colour and race should suffered from this colour blindness!. Third one was the boy with a rose, he was personally my favorite one.He made a rose and i wonder what if he will make it for any girl!. And how can i forgot CHINIU, he was the most adorable kid there, he was so cute and was big time attention seeker!, he was making lovely faces, feeling shy and at the same time hungry for chocolates and chips badly!. I had a crush on him. There was the only girl there among all the boys (how lucky) named "sarita". Her smile was awesome (better then deepika padukone's) she was happy to see all of us and she didn't say a single word but her smile said everything. Every child there was the gift of god according to me, i felt god in them.
And when this competition was over there were three winners and CHINU (the boy i mentioned above) didn't win but he was so obsessed with the prizes he started shouting for his own prize so we gifted him a chocolate and a chips packet. At the end of the competition all kids danced and it was FANTASTIC. I enjoyed every bit of it and one child did dabang step (one with that hands on belt and was moving it up and down) that was so MAST.Then all the teachers explained that how these kids behave, how they act and how they teach them? I got to know so many things which earlier i never think of.One teacher told us an incident that left me aghast of a boy who haven't speak a single word from last 14 years because of circumstances,he couldn't explain from where he came from, what circumstances he has passed through but he started speaking because of this aasram. That was so applauding, hats off!.
At last i don't have words to describe that how wonderful i felt to be in that place.Talk with them, play with them, gift them was so heavenly feeling.People do so many things for recreational purposes like they do smoke, drink, watch movies, hang out with friends they so called "enjoy their life" but, i think if you actually want to enjoy your life just HELP THE NEEDY PEOPLE, try to bring smile on their faces you definitely will know the real enjoyment and purpose of life You do prayer to connect with god (everyone does) but that day i realized that if you actually want to connect to god, you should respect the things which is made by him, don't insult the people and things made by him then only we can make him happy.THINK ABOUT IT!
wow nice experience,That was touchy as well
